About Sopvo

Sopvo is software for managing written procedures. It holds a register: one row per procedure with an owner, the version that is current, the date it is next due for review, and the signatures saying who has read it. It publishes two free worksheets that do the arithmetic on a page, and sells one plan that keeps the work as a record. It is made by Ellul Solutions Ltd, which is the company you contract with and pay.

Why this site exists

This site exists because the documents are almost never the problem. Organisations that ask for help with their procedures usually have plenty of them; what they cannot answer is which one is current, whose job it is to check, and whether anybody read it. A folder cannot answer those three questions and a register can, so the register is the product.

Who it is for

For the operations, quality or practice manager who owns the written procedures and cannot currently say which version is current or who has read it.

Not for a compliance officer assembling audit evidence against a regulation, and not for anybody looking to book safety or first aid training.

What it does not do

  • No advice on what your procedures should say. The worksheets do arithmetic on your figures; whether a procedure is adequate is your organisation's judgement.
  • No prices we did not retrieve and date. Where a page names other products it says what each is built for and sends you to the vendor for the number, because a price quoted from memory is a guess dressed as a fact.

What is on this site

2 free tools, each working its figure on the page with no account, and Sopvo Pro that keeps the record. All tools · Pricing.

  • Process vs procedure: Size the register and price a full attestation cycle: processes, procedures under each, headcount, the share in scope for any one, and reading time.
  • Procedure management: Price the review load: procedures in the register, reviews each needs a year, hours a review takes, a loaded reviewer rate and the share already overdue.

What Sopvo Pro keeps

You have the number. Pro keeps the register it describes: every procedure, its owner, its version and who signed for it.

Who answers for it

Joe Ellul-Turner, Director, Ellul Solutions Ltd.
